The East Sussex (Buxted, Framfield & Blackboys)
(30mph, 40mph and 50mph Speed Limit) Order 2005 Amendment Order 2025 No 1
NOTICE is hereby given that East Sussex County Council have made an Order under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which will reduce the speed limit along the following lengths of road;
40 mph Speed Limit
B2192 Lewes Road – from a point 206 metres northeast of its junction with the B2102 High Street, south westwards to a point 50 metres northeast of its junction with Hollow Lane.
C508 Star Lane – from its junction with the B2102 High Street, south westwards to its junction with the B2192 Lewes Road.
50 mph Speed Limit
B2192 Lewes Road – from a point 50 metres northeast of its junction with Hollow Lane, south westwards, then southwards to a point 165 metres south of its junction with Stonebridge Lane.
A copy of the Order, which will come into effect on 1 December 2025, plan showing the lengths of road and a statement of the County Council’s reasons for proposing the Order, along with a copy of the Order being revoked in part can be viewed in Reception, East Sussex County Council, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes from Monday to Friday between 9am to 4pm and online at;
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act of 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Road Traffic Regulation Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks of 28 November 2025, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

The East Sussex (Public Footpath Chailey 2c (part) and East Chiltington 14a)
(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2024
To protect public safety during engineering works associated with the installation of farmland irrigation systems, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 24 May 2024 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:
Temporary Footpath Closure
Part of Public Footpath Chailey 2c will be closed between TQ 3845 1605 and TQ 3883 1627 and Public Footpath East Chiltington 14a will be closed between TQ 3845 1605 and TQ 3839 1604.
An alternative route will be available by using public bridleway East Chiltington 10a, public bridleway Chailey 51c, and then approximately east and east south-east along the landowner’s alternative footpath north of Sawpit Wood, Sawpit Field and Daisey-mead Field to rejoin public footpath Chailey 2c at TQ 3883 1627, and vice versa, and as shown on the closure plan. The closure will be in force for 6 months from 3 December 2025, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpath still be unavailable to use.

The East Sussex (A26 Uckfield Road, Ringmer)
(Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following length of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:
Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit
Uckfield Road – from the junction with C9 Isfield Road to the junction with U5021 Old Uckfield Road.
The Order commences 15 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place between 15 and 22 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U5685 Newlands Park Way, Newick)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Newlands Park Way – for its entire length.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 15 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 15 and 16 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U5103 Winterbourne Lane, Lewes)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Winterbourne Lane – from no. 1 to the junction with C7 Winterbourne Hollow.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5103 Winterbourne Lane, Valley Road – C7 Winterbourne Hollow.
The Order commences 15 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 15 and 18 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7696 Chapel Row, Herstmonceux)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Chapel Row – from the junction with A271 Gardner Street to the junction with U7696 Church Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7696 Church Road – U7697 Lower Road – U7075 Cricketing Lane – A271 Hailsham Road, Gardner Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 15 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 15 and 19 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Firle Road – from the junction with U7044 Langtye Lane to the junction with A27 Eastbourne Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C13 Mill Lane – C331 The Street, Church Lane – C207 Poundfield Road, Langtye Lane, The Street – A27(T) Lewes Road, Eastbourne Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 15 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 15 and 16 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C8 The Drove, Offham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
The Drove – from the junction with A275 The Street to the junction with C8 North End Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C8 North End Lane, Hamsey Road – C205 Cooksbridge Road, Deadmantree Hill – A275 Cooksbridge Road, The Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 16 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7921 Dads Hill, Heathfield)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Dads Hill – from the junction with B2102 High Street to the junction with A267 Mayfield Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A267 Mayfield Road – B2102 High Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 4 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7516 New Road, Uckfield)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
New Road – from the junction with C58 Lewes Road to the junction with C26 Eastbourne Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C58 Lewes Road – C26 Eastbourne Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 2 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 4 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7259 Mount Pleasant/Tollwood Road/U7169 Blackness Road, Crowborough)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Mount Pleasant/Tollwood Road – from the junction with C11 Walshes Road to the junction with B2100 Crowborough Hill.
Diversion via B2100 Crowborough Hill – C252 Church Road – C11 Croft Road, Whitehill Road, Fermor Road, Walshes Road and vice versa. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commenced 2 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 1 and 19 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A272 Budletts Lane, Uckfield)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Budletts Lane – from the junction with A272 London Road to the junction with U7118 Five Ash Down.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7118 Five Ash Down – A26 Mill Pond Road – A272 London Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 28 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 28 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7072 Old Road, Herstmonceux/Hailsham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Old Road – from the junction with A271 New Road to the junction with U7073 Squab Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7072 Old Road – A271 New Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 1 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed below depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2109 Avis Road, Newhaven)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Avis Road – from the junction with A26 New Road Industrial Area to the junction with U5777 Iveagh Crescent.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2109 Avis Road – A259 Denton roundabout, The Drove, B&Q roundabout, Drove Road – A26 New Road Industrial Area – A26(T) New Road Industrial Area and vice versa.
The Order commences 1 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 1 and 3 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;
Temporary Road Closures
Sheepsetting Lane – from the junction with A267 Little London Road to the junction with U7368 Mill Road.
Wealdview Road – from the junction with U7602 Sheepsetting Lane to No.11.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7368 Mill Road – A265 High Street, Cross In Hand Road – A267 Little London Road and vice versa.
The Order commenced 24 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 30 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
