What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 23

THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 20

SECTION 90A HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Barnet in exercise of powers conferred by Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to install Pedestrian Zebra Crossing including its associated zig zag road markings at the following location as follows:

  • Brookside South EN4 – Outside and opposite Nos.89 to 99 Brookside South.

As a consequence of the Pedestrian Zebra Crossing being introduced, lengths of no waiting “At any time” restrictions would be removed opposite Nos.89 to 95 Brookside South EN4.

FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Order under Sections 6 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

In order to deter obstruction, improve traffic flow, improve sightlines and road safety, the general effect of the Free Order would be to introduce new lengths of ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions outside and at the side of No.113 Brookside South EN4, outside and at the side of No.111 Brookside South EN4 and opposite Nos.109 to 113 Brookside South EN4.

In order to prevent obstructive parking, and improve sightlines for pedestrians and general road safety in the vicinity of Monkfrith Primary School, the general effect of the Free Parking Places Order would also be to introduce new Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm No stopping on school entrance markings restrictions on:

a) Parkside Gardens EN4 – At the side of No.113 Brookside South EN4.

b) Brookside South EN4 – Opposite Nos.107 to 109 Brookside South EN4.

FURTHER NOTICE is hereby given that the London Borough of Barnet in exercise of powers conferred by section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 proposes to introduce a raised table as follows:

A copy of the proposed Order, associated plan of the relevant area and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be obtained, inclusive for a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing highwayscorrespondence@barnet.gov.uk or by visiting the Design Team, Highways Group, 2nd Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.

Any person wishing to object to or comment on the proposed Order should send a written statement explaining their objection/comments, and quoting reference number SCR684 (RSE031) Brookside South-SC-100 to the Design Team, London Borough of Barnet, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale NW9 4EW, via the Barnet TraffWeb website or via email to highwayscorrespondence@barnet.gov.uk within 21 days of the date of this Notice.
