What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(MYERS ROAD, POTTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Myers Road, Potton outside Hillside.

This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 15 to 17 December 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Everton Road, Myers Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 15 December 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(CLIFTON ROAD, SHEFFORD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Clifton Road, Shefford between no 38 and roundabout with The Woolpack.

This temporary closure is required to enable iron work and Post replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 8 December 2025 between the hours of 0900-1530. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Shefford Rd, New Rd, Hitchin Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 8 January 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(NORTHILL ROAD, ICKWELL)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Northill Road, Ickwell outside Yew Tree Cottage.

This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 1 to 3 December 2025 for 24hours a day. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Northill Rd, Cople Road, A603, A600, B658, Ickwell Rd, Northill Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 1 December 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(TEMPSFORD: PUBLIC FOOTPATH NOS. 3 AND 7)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the lengths of:

I.   Footpath No. 3, Tempsford which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1629 5397 to OS GR TL 1621 5454.

II.  Footpath No. 7, Tempsford which extends from OS GR TL 1613 5416 to OS GR TL 1613 5421.

These temporary closures are required as part of a bridge deck is damaged and needs repairing. The closures are expected to take place from 15 December 2025 for up to six months.

There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation. Further details, including a map, can also be found on the Council’s website at: https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/info/82/countryside/431/rights_of_way/2 This proposed Order will come into operation on 15 December 2025 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpaths have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
