Whitmore Road, Harrow - Temporary Road Closure due to Community Event

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF HARROW

SECTION 16A ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS OF WHITMORE ROAD ONLY FOR WEST HARROW FESTIVE CELEBRATIONS

THE COUNCIL OF LONDON BOROUGH OF HARROW HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that they have made an order under the provisions of section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which would temporarily introduce a road closure in Whitmore Road to allow an annual event known as the West Harrow Festive Celebration to take place.

The general effect of the order would be to:-

  1. Introduce the following temporary closure between 14:00hrs and 20:00hrs on 14th December 2025.

  2. Vehicles would be prohibited from entering or exiting Whitmore Road, between its junctions with Porlock Avenue and Shaftesbury Avenue.

  3. The provisions listed in paragraph 2 would not apply to:-

    (a) any vehicle being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer;

    (c) any person who causes any vehicle to proceed in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed pursuant to Section 66 or Section 67 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984;

    (d) any vehicles that are being used in connection with the operation of the Stanmore Festive Lights event.

  4. Diversion route; via Porlock Avenue and Shaftesbury Avenue and vice versa.
