Barnet, Amendments To Parking Arrangements

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET

THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 20**

THE BARNET (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 20**

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 51 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

In order to provide a parking facility to disabled blue badge holders who meet qualifying criteria, the general effect of the above Orders would be to provide designated disabled parking bays for use by motorists in their vehicles who display both a valid disabled blue badge and a dedicated disabled permit which would be applicable to each bay, outside the following locations:

    • 32 Jackson Road EN4

    • 59 Salcombe Gardens NW7 (replacing an area of permit holders only parking)

    • 114 Holden Road N12

    • 42 Temple Gardens NW11 (by converting a length of existing permit holders only parking bay)

    • 46 Balfour Grove N20

    • 38 Russell Road NW9 (by converting a length of existing resident permit holders only parking bay)

    • 170 Deansbrook Road HA8 (by converting a length of existing resident permit holders only parking bay)

    • 60 East Walk EN4

    • 142 East Crescent N11

    • 17 Woodfield Drive EN4

    • 15 St Stephens Road EN5, around Gardens HA8 (adjacent to no.38)

  • 81 Bedford Avenue EN5 (by converting a length of existing resident permit holders only parking bay)

A general use disabled permit holders only parking bay would also be converted to a designated disabled permit holder only parking bay on Normandy Avenue EN5, adjacent to Court House.

The general effect of the above Orders would also remove redundant disabled parking bays outside:

    • 13 Briarfield Avenue N3

    • 63 Briarfield Avenue N3

    • 23 Leicester Road N2 (to be converted to permit holders only parking operational 2pm to 3pm Monday to Friday)

    • 50 The Fairway NW7

    • 151/153 Bittacy Hill NW7 (to be converted to resident permit holders only operational 10am to 11am Monday to Friday and permit holders only 1pm to 6pm on event days)

    • Dixey Cottages, 97 Great North Road N2 (to be converted to single yellow line waiting restriction operational 10am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday)

    • Llanelly Road NW2, to the rear of No. 31 Llanelly Road (to be converted to business permit holders only parking operational 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday and 9.30am to 6.30pm Sunday)

    • 17 Storksmead Road HA8

    • 36 Hayward Road N20 (to be converted to resident permit holders only parking 2pm to 3pm Monday to Friday)

    • 38 Arlington Road

  • 12 Cecil Road NW9 (to be converted to resident permit holders only parking 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday)

A doctor’s permit holders only parking bay operational 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday would also be introduced opposite No. 47 Leopold Road N2 (adjacent to Woodlands Medical Practice) by converting an existing resident permit holders only parking bay.

Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be obtained, inclusive for a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 3rd Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.

Any person wishing to object to or comment on the proposed Orders should send a written statement explaining their objection/comments, and quoting reference number SCR678, to the Design Team, London Borough of Barnet, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale NW9 4EW, or email to parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk within 21 days of the date of this Notice.
