What is happening?

(Footpath 86, Brentwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended
Effect of the order: To temporarily close the Footpath 86, in the Borough of Brentwood from its junction with A1023 Chelmsford Road, southeast for approximately 100 metres.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 15 December 2025 to 15 June 2026 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while the construction of the junction access to the site is undertaken.
Alternative route: No safe alternative route available.
The Order will come into effect on 15 December 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Beggar Hill, Fryerning (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Beggar Hill, Fryerning in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 195m north east of its junction with Blackmore Road for a distance of approximately 55m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd January 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30066973321 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Beggar Hill, Mill Green Road, Blackmore Road, Bag Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 10th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Chequers Road, South Weald) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chequers Road, South Weald in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Coxtie Green Road for a distance of approximately 175m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st January 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG6V4P2D01SB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacment works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Chequers Road, Weald Road, Coxtie Green Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 10th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hart Street, Brentwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (Crown Street & Hart Street, Brentwood) (Temporary Suspension of One Way) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Hart Street, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Crown Street for a distance of approximately 35m in a south westerly direction.
2. To temporarily suspend the one way in that length of Crown Street from its junction with Hart Street to its junction with High Street a distance of approximately 34m, as cited in the “The Essex County Council (Crown Street) (One Way) Order 2013” for the duration of the above closure only.
3. To temporarily suspend the one way in that length of Hart Street, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Kings Road to its junction with Crown Street a distance of approximately 180m, as cited in the “The London Traffic (Prescriped Routes) (No.2) (Brentwood) Regulations 1937” for the duration of the above closure only.
The closure/restrictions are scheduled to commence on 13th January 2025 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311010D112989 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via B185, A1023.
The Order will come into effect on 10th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(North Road, Brentwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of North Road, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Wellesley Road to its junction with North Road Avenue a distance of approximately 75m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th January 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013342921 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.
An alternative route is available via North Road, Ongar Road, Western Avenue and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 10th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Red Rose Lane, Blackmore) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Red Rose Lane, Blackmore in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Fingrith Hall Lane for a distance of approximately 125m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th January 2026 for 6 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP40008421244 – Ferns Surfacing). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new footway and carriageway repair works are undertaken by Ferns Surfacing.
An alternative route is available via Fingrith Hall Road, The Green, Nine Ashes Road, Red Rose Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 9th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Slip Road from A127 to M25 Westbound, Little Warley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Slip Road from A127 to M25 Westbound, Little Warley in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Southend Arterial Road to its junction with A127 M25 J29 Roundabout a distance of approximately 410m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th January 2026 for 1 night (22:30-05:30), or where stated on a valid permit (FN49357698421 – National Highways). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while road marking works are undertaken by National Highways.
An alternative route is available via A127, Eastern Avenue East, A127, A127 M25 J29 Roundabout.
The Order will come into effect on 10th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Stocks Lane, Kelvedon Hatch) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Stocks Lane, Kelvedon Hatch in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Blackmore Road to its junction with Broad Meadow a distance of approximately 160m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th January 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2392117 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Blackmore Road, Elmtree Avenue, Stocksfield, Short Croft, Stocks Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 10th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
