Tipton / Wednesbury / Oldbury / Great Barr - Temporary Road Closures & Turning Restrictions

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Newhall Street, Tipton) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Newhall Street, which will be closed from the junction of Bloomfield Road for 45 metres. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Tibbington Road, Regent Street, Bloomfield Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 05/12/2025 effective from 01/12/2025 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access for gas service works by Cadent Gas Ltd.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Hollies Drive, Wednesbury) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Hollies Drive, which will be closed between the dividing lines of property Nos 5/5A & 7/8. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route will not be required due to Hollies Drive being a cul-de-sac. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 05/12/2025 effective from 01/12/2025 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access for a new water service connection by Onsite on behalf of South Staffs Water.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Grafton Road, Oldbury) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Grafton Road, which will be closed from north of its junction with Falcon Road to the southern boundary line of property No.86. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Lansdowne Road, Hurst Green Road, Fairfield Road, Nimmings Road, Cakemore Road, Pencricket Lane & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 12/12/2025 effective from 01/12/2025 (24hrs). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Hamstead Road, Great Barr) (Temporary Road Closure & Left Turn Ban) Order 2025 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Hamstead Road, which will be closed from north of its junction with Valley Road to the dividing line of property Nos 105-107. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A left turn ban will be in place on Valley Road at the junction of Hamstead Road for the duration of the Hamstead Road closure. Traffic will be diverted via Newton Road, Walsall Road, Old Walsall Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 28/11/2025 (9:30am - 3:30pm). Purpose – to facilitate access for remedial works by Severn Trent Water.
