Essex - Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance and Utility Works
What is happening?

(Alfred Terrace, Walton On The Naze)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Alfred Terrace, Walton On The Naze in the District of Tendring, from its junction with High Street for a distance of approximately 55m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th January 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH23898096 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Alfred Terrace, Mill Lane, High Street.
The Order will come into effect on 4th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Lake Walk, Clacton on Sea)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Lake Walk, Clacton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 65m south east of its junction with Lake Avenue for a distance of approximately 40m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th January 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MT00110288378 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water replacement works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Lake Walk, Lake Avenue, Jameson Road, Coopers Lane, Lake Walk and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 4th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(St Marys Road, Clacton on Sea)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of St Marys Road, Clacton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 40m north east of its junction with Magdalen Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th December 2025 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ7011001454564 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via St Marys Road, St Osyths Road, Alfred Road, Oxford Road, Olivers Road, Coppins Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 20th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
