THE A1(M) MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 6 TO JUNCTION 10)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 202-
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) intends to make an Order on the A1(M) Motorway in the Counties of Hertfordshire and Central Bedfordshire to enable maintenance and improvement works to be carried out in safety.
The duration of each closure would vary depending on the nature of the maintenance work being undertaken on each occasion.
The works are expected to take place overnight between 21:00 and 05:00 during a period starting on or after, 5 January 2026 and be completed by 23 December 2026.
The effect of the Order would be to impose prohibitions on the following lengths of carriageway:
(i) the A1(M) in both directions between Junction 6 and Junction 10;
(ii) all slip roads leading to and from the lengths of carriageway described above.
During any road closures traffic would be diverted via alternative junctions of the A1(M) Motorway and local roads. These diversions would clearly be indicated by traffic signs throughout the area.

The Order would come into force on 29 December 2025 and continue in force until 23 December 2026.
