THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF CALDERDALE

(HALIFAX TOWN CENTRE)

(HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS)

(WEST YORKSHIRE PLUS TRANSPORT FUND, A629 PHASE 2) (SIDE ROADS) ORDER 2020

The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that on 13 November 2025, she has confirmed, with modifications, the above Order which was made by Calderdale Borough Council under sections 14 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980 and which, as confirmed, authorises the Council to –

(a)   improve highways (including raising, lowering or otherwise altering);

(b)   stop up highways;

(c)   construct new highways; and

(d)   provide new means of access to premises,

all on or in the vicinity of the route of the classified roads comprising the A629 route from Orange Street to Hunger Hill; the C5951 route from its junction with New Bank to its junction with Alfred Street East; the C5954 route (as proposed to be improved) from its junction with Northgate to Hunger Hill; and the C5955 route from its junction with New Bank to its junction with Orange Street, in Halifax, West Yorkshire, which the Council proposes to improve.

For a hard copy of the Order and the map please contact Calderdale Borough Council (Calderdale Customer First) on 01422 288001. Any person aggrieved by or desiring to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Highways Act 1980 or that any requirement or regulation made has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks of 27 November 2025, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision included.
