NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

London Road/Lay by Off Lond Road, Adlington

Notice Is Hereby Given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit and restrict traffic.

Temporary Prohibition of traffic – Lay By off London Road Opposite Adlington Farm

Temporary 30 mph speed limit – London Road, Adlington from the junction of Holehouse Lane to Millhouse Bridge This order will come into operation on Monday 5th January 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 10th April 2026

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS

Public Footpath No. 24 (Part) Parish of Macclesfield Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That length of Public Footpath No. 24 (part) Parish of Macclesfield which commences at Black Lane at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 9202 7419 and runs in a generally north westerly direction for approx. 85m to the footbridge at OSGR SJ 9196 7422.

The closure is necessary to protect the public from danger due to an unsafe bridge.

The Order continues the restriction that came into force on 14th November 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months, or until the works required on or adjacent to the footpath are completed

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS

Public Footpath No. 37 (part) Parish of Poynton  with Worth

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by sub-section 15 (5) of the aforementioned Section 15 has approved the Order being extended and continuing in force until 26th December 2027. The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That Public Footpath No. 37 in the parish Poynton with Worth, which commences at its junction with Woodford Road at OS grid reference SJ 9139 8460 and runs in a generally southeast direction for approximately 352 metres to its junction with the A555 at OS grid reference SJ 9156 8465.

The closure is necessary to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public due to hazardous ground conditions.
