Suffolk, Temporary Road Closures Due To Electrical Utility Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C684 LAWSHALL ROAD, HAWSTEAD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C684 Lawshall Road, Hawstead from 580 metres north of the junction with Brand Lane for 80 metres northbound to facilitate a new electrical connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Bury Road Bradfield Combust, Bury Road Lawshall, Rectory Corner, Melford Road, Road between 7439 and the C685, Mill Hill, Little Chadacre, Shimpling Road, Hanningfield Green, Donkey Lane, Old Lane, Bury Road Stanningfield, Stanningfield Road, the A134, the A1302, Nowton Road Bury St Edmunds, Bury Road Nowton, Hawstead Road Nowton, Nowton Road, The Pound, Bury Road Hawstead, The Green and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 08/12/2025 - 12/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U6331 MILL ROAD, PAKENHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U6331 Mill Road, Pakenham from 80 metres east of the junction with the A143 for 450 metres eastbound to facilitate the installation of an electrical high voltage cable. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Fen Road, The Street, Upper Town, Thurston Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 08/12/2025 - 12/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
