What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (BENTS AVENUE AND GOYT CRESCENT, BREDBURY) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has on 27 November 2025 made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 which will come into operation on the 30 December 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce

No Waiting at Any Time: Bents Avenue, Bredbury (south side), from a point 10m south east of the intersection of the south eastern kerbline of Goyt Crescent, to a point 10m north west of the intersection of the north western kerbline of Goyt Crescent. Goyt Crescent, Bredbury (both sides), from the intersection of the south western kerb line of Bents Avenue, for a distance of 10m in a south westerly direction.

Limited Waiting 8am - 8pm: Bents Avenue, Bredbury (south side), from a point 10m west from the intersection of the western kerbline of Higher Bents Lane, in a westerly direction, to a point 10m south east of the intersection of the south eastern kerbline of Goyt Crescent. Bents Avenue, Bredbury (south side), from a point 10m north west from the intersection of the north western kerbline of Goyt Crescent, to a point 10m south east of the intersection of the south eastern kerbline of Goyt Valley Road.

A copy of the Order and map may be obtained from Stockport Legal Services, Town Hall Stockport.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or the Road Traffic Act 1991, or that a requirement of the Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
