What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(ON STREET PARKING PLACES)
(CIVIL ENFORCEMENT) (CONSOLIDATION)
(AMENDMENT NO 79) (MARKET PLACE,
POCKLINGTON) ORDER 2025

1. On 3 December 2025 East Riding of Yorkshire
Council made this Order which will be operative from
3 December 2025, the effect of which will be to:
a) Revoke all of the existing limited waiting parking
bays directly around the monument in Market Place,
Pocklington.
b) Introduce a pedestrian zone, no waiting at any time,
all days, except for access, around the monument
which is to be re-constructed as a public realm area
c) Introduce no waiting at any time restrictions and no
loading (all days, 10am - 2pm) along a newly created
kerbline for a public realm area, between Deans
Lane and Sweetmove Estate Agents, on Market Place,
Pocklington.
d) Amend the existing time restrictions on the disabled
badge holder only spaces outside Footloose and
Co-op from Monday to Saturday, 8am - 6pm two
hours, no return with two hours to be Monday to
Saturday, three hours, no return within three hours.
e) Relocate two of the existing, most southern, disabled
badge holders only spaces, Monday to Saturday (with
an amended time restriction of three hours, no return
within three hours), outside Footloose, to outside the
Co-op and revoke the three existing limited waiting
parking bays to allow for their re-location.
f) Implement two limited waiting parking spaces,
Monday to Saturday, 8am - 6pm two hours, no return
within one hour, outside Footloose, where the existing
disabled badge holders only bays are to be removed.
g) Implement one motorcycles only at all times parking
space outside Footloose, where the existing disabled
badge holders only bays are to be removed.
h) Amend the existing loading only bay adjacent to
Sweetmove Estate Agents from loading only to loading
only 7am - noon, limited waiting noon - 6pm,
20 minutes, no return within one hour.
2. A copy of the Order and relevant plan may be
examined during normal office hours at Pocklington
Pocela Centre, 23 Railway Street, Pocklington,
YO42 2QU.
3. If you wish to question the validity of this Order or
of any provision contained within it on the grounds
that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that
any requirement of that Act or any instrument made
under it has not been complied with in relation to the
Order, you may, within six weeks from 3 December
2025 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
