What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(MARKET PLACE, POCKLINGTON)
(PROHIBITION OF DRIVING (NO VEHICLES)
AT ALL TIMES EXCEPT FOR ACCESS)
ORDER 2025

1. On 3 December 2025 East Riding of Yorkshire
Council made this Order which will be operative
from 3 December 2025, the effect of which will
be to introduce a prohibition of driving (no vehicles),
all days, except for access) on the following lengths
of road:
Road Extent
Market Place, The area around the monument –
Pocklington from the most northern building
line of number 54 Market Place in
a south westerly direction, then
southerley direction, meeting the most
south western building line of numbers
40/44 Market Place, emcompassing the
area to the east of this boundary line.
2. A copy of the Order and relevant plan may be
examined during normal office hours Pocklington
Pocela Centre, 23 Railway Street, Pocklington,
YO42 2QU.
3. If you wish to question the validity of this Order or
of any provision contained within it on the grounds
that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that
any requirement of that Act or any instrument made
under it has not been complied with in relation to the
Order, you may, within six weeks from
3 December 2025 apply to the High Court for this
purpose.
