What is happening?

PARKING & WAITING RESTRICTIONS –
BELFAST
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Parking and
Waiting Restrictions (Belfast) (Amendment No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2025” (S.R. 2025
No. 181) which comes into operation on 15 December 2025.
The Rule will prohibit vehicles waiting at any time on a length of Marlborough Park, Belfast
(loading and unloading permitted). Vehicles are excepted from the prohibition in certain
circumstances.
A copy of the Rule may be viewed at DfI offices during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00
am to 5.00 pm) by appointment only. Appointments can be arranged either by email to traffic.

PARKING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS
– BELFAST The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled The Parking and
Waiting Restrictions (Belfast) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2026.
The Order will prohibit vehicles waiting at any time (loading and unloading not permitted) on
a length of Upper Knockbreda Road, Belfast.
Vehicles are excepted from the prohibition in certain circumstances.
Full details are contained in the draft Order which, together with a map showing the road
involved, may be inspected free of charge during office hours within the period below at DfI
TRAM Eastern Division, Network Traffic Management 1, Hydebank House, 4a Hospital

Inspection of the draft Order and map is by appointment only which can be arranged either
by email using the email address below or by telephone during office hours (Monday to
Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.) on 0300 200 7899.
Any person may object or make other representations, specifying the grounds on which they
are made, by writing to the Department at the address above or by emailing

infrastructure-ni.gov.uk within a period of 22 days from the date of publication of this Notice.

PARKING PLACES – DISABLED
PERSONS’ VEHICLES
The Department for Infrastructure has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Parking Places
(Disabled Persons’ Vehicles) (Amendment No. 5) Order (Northern Ireland) 2025”, (S.R. 2025
No. 184) which comes into operation on 16 December 2025.
The Rule will create parking places with unlimited waiting in Armagh, Bangor, Banbridge,
Belfast, Bessbrook, Carrickfergus, Cookstown, Crossmaglen, Derry/Londonderry, Dromore,
(County Down), Dromore, (County Tyrone), Forkhill, Hilltown, Lisbellaw, Maghera, Newry,
Newtownards, Portaferry and Strabane. The Rule will also remove a parking place with
unlimited waiting in Derry/Londonderry and create parking places with limited waiting in
Derry/Londonderry.
