Church Lane, High Catton - Temporary Traffic Regulation

What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC PART OF
CHURCH LANE, RECTORY LANE
AND MAIN STREET, HIGH CATTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
part of Church Lane, Rectory Lane and Main Street,
High Catton approximately 80 metres along each road
from their junction commencing 5 January 2026 at
08.00 hours until 9 January 2026 at 17.00 hours
for the purposes of installing ducting and chambers
for the new BDUK fibre network on behalf of
Quickline communications works. The road closures
are necessary to enable the works to be carried out
in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of
the public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is
anticipated that the works will be completed within
five days. The alternative route for traffic affected by
the road closures will be via Church Lane, Main Street,
Lofthouse Lane, Broad Lane and Main Street, Catton CP,
Pocklington Provincial Ward. The diversion route will
be signed at the time of closure.
The roads will be closed to all through traffic but
access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
