ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14(1)
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
COLESDEN ROAD, COLMWORTH 25 -106
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Colesden Road, Colmworth 1.4KM east of the junction with Channels End Road.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate install new footway and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 9th December 2025 to 12th December 2025
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Colesden Road, Roxton Road, Bedford Road, Green End Road, Barford Road.
The reverse route applies.

BOX END ROAD, KEMPSTON 25 – 093
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Box End Road, Kempston.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate new water supply and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 16:00 hours from 9th December 2025 to 11th December 2025
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Box End Road, Cemetery Road, The Branston Way, Bromham Bypass, Bromham Road, Bridge End.
The reverse route applies.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along Chadwell End, Pertenhall.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate repair manhole and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 16:00 hours 6th January 2026
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Swineshead Road, Kimbolton Road, Chadwell End. The reverse route applies.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE PARKING RESTRICTIONS ACROSS THE ENTIRE BOROUGH HALL CAR PARK
Reason for Proposal: To improve safety, accessibility, and efficient use of parking space by ensuring all vehicles parked within designated bays.
Effect of Order: The whole of Borough Hall Car Park will be designated as a restricted parking area. All users must be parked in a marked bay. Parking outside of marked bays will be prohibited at all times.
This restriction will apply to all existing bay types, including one- hour limit bays, disabled bays and electric vehicle (EV) charging bays.
Relevant Proposal Documents may be examined during normal office hours at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP. They will also be available for viewing on the council’s website at www.bedford.gov.uk/proposedtro. The documents will be placed on deposit until 6 weeks after the Order is made or until it is decided not to continue with the Proposal. (SHARNBROOK: FOOTHPATH NO 6)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Bedford Borough Council on the 23rd June 2025 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of public footpath No 6 Sharnbrook which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 0069 5926 to OS GR SP 0116 5958 has been continued in force with the approval of the Sectary of State for Transport until 1st December 2026.
This temporary closure is required due to Construction works. The closure will take place from Tuesday 2nd December 2025 for a period of one year.
The alternative routes for users while the closure is in operation will be to proceed along Mill Road to OS GR SP 0069 5926 then proceed in an easterly direction to OS GR SP 0110 5920 and along Footpath No 8 to OS GR SP 0116 5958 and vice visa. The Order will come into operation on 2nd December 2025 for a period not exceeding one year or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near the footpath to have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within one year the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL
(ODELL: FOOTPATH NO 25 AND PART OF FOOTPATH NO 22)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bedford Borough Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the lengths of public footpath No 25 and part of footpath No 22 Odell which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9531 5856 to OS GR SP 9533 5816.
This temporary closure is required due to the bridge being out of repair. The closure will take place from Wednesday 3rd December 2025 for a period of six months.
There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in place.
The Order will come into operation on 3rd December 2025 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near the footpaths to have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
