The A483 Trunk Road, Multiple Roads in Builth Wells, Powys - Temporary restrictions

MAE GWEINIDOGION CYMRU yn bwriadu gwneud Gorchymyn o dan adran 14 o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 ymhen dim llai na 7 niwrnod i ddyddiad yr Hysbysiad hwn. Mae angen y Gorchymyn arfaethedig er mwyn gwneud gwaith ar gefnffordd yr A483, neu gerllaw iddi, yn Llanfair-ym-Muallt, Powys.
Disgwylir y bydd y gwaharddiadau, y codir arwyddion priodol yn eu cylch, mewn grym o 09:00 o’r gloch ar 5 Ionawr 2026 hyd 07:00 o’r gloch ar 2 Chwefror 2026 neu hyd nes y caiff yr arwyddion traffig dros dro eu symud ymaith yn barhaol.
Effaith y Gorchymyn arfaethedig fydd cyflwyno sawl gwaharddiad traffig dros dro ar ddarnau o gefnffordd yr A483 yn Llanfair-ym-Muallt, o’r enw High Street, Broad Street, Church Street, West Street, Ffordd y Parc, Garth Road a The Strand, fel y disgrifir yn Atodlenni 1 i 5 i’r Hysbysiad hwn. Pennir y llwybr arall yn Atodlen 6 i’r Hysbysiad hwn.
Dim ond yn ystod y dyddiadau a bennir uchod y disgwylir i’r Gorchymyn arfaethedig fod yn weithredol. Er hynny, bydd yn parhau’n ddilys am gyfnod o 18 mis ar y mwyaf rhag ofn y bydd angen ailamserlennu’r gwaith neu wneud gwaith canlyniadol neu waith arall oherwydd amgylchiadau nad oedd modd eu rhag-weld.

Y darn o’r gefnffordd o’r enw The Strand sy’n ymestyn o’i chyffordd â Church Street i gyfeiriad y dwyrain hyd at ganolbwynt ei chyffordd â’r A470 Station Road wrth Bont Afon Gwy.
Y darn o’r gefnffordd o’r enw West Street sy’n ymestyn o ganolbwynt ei chyffordd â High Street a Market Street i gyfeiriad y gorllewin hyd at ganolbwynt ei chyffordd â Church Street a Garth Road.

Y darn o’r gefnffordd o’r enw West Street sy’n ymestyn o ganolbwynt ei chyffordd â Market Street hyd at ei chyffordd â Church Street.

THE A483 TRUNK ROAD (VARIOUS ROADS AT BUILTH WELLS, POWYS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC PROHIBITIONS) ORDER 202-
THE WELSH MINISTERS propose, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which is necessary to undertake works on or near the A483 trunk road at Builth Wells in Powys It is expected that the prohibitions, which will be signed accordingly, will be in force from 09:00 hours on 5 January 2026 until 07:00 hours on 2 February 2026 or until the temporary traffic signs are permanently removed.
The effect of the proposed Order will be to introduce several temporary traffic prohibitions on lengths of the A483 trunk road at Builth Wells, known as High Street, Broad Street, Church Street, West Street, Park Road, Garth Road and The Strand, as described in Schedules 1 to 5 to this Notice. The alternative route is specified in Schedule 6 to this Notice.
Although the proposed Order is only expected to operate during the dates specified above it will remain valid for a maximum period of 18 months, as a contingency, should the work need to be rescheduled, or consequential or other work is required due to unforeseen circumstances.

SCHEDULE 1
Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles
That length of trunk road known as Broad Street, Builth Wells, Powys that extends from its junction with the A470 Station Road and A470 Castle Street in a south-westerly direction to the centre-point of its junction with King’s Head Lane.
That length of trunk road known as High Street, Builth Wells, Powys that extends from the centre point of its junction with King’s Head Lane in a south-westerly direction to the centre-point of its junction with Market Street.

SCHEDULE 2
Temporary Two-Way Traffic
The length of trunk road known as Church Street that extends from the centre-point of its junction with North Road and Park Road in an easterly direction to its junction with The Strand.
The length of the trunk road known as The Strand that extends from its junction with Church Street in an easterly direction to the centre-point of its junction with the A470 Station Road at Wye Bridge.
The length of the trunk road known as West Street that extends from the centre-point of its junction with High Street and Market Street in a westerly direction to the centre-point of its junction with Church Street and Garth Road.

SCHEDULE 3
Temporary One-Way Traffic
The length of the trunk road known as Garth Road that extends from the centre-point of its junction with Church Street and West Street in a westerly direction to the centre-point of its junction with Park Road. The direction of traffic flow shall be east to west.

SCHEDULE 4
Temporary Prohibition of Waiting at Any Time
The length of the trunk road known as West Street that extends from the centre-point of its junction with Market Street to its junction with Church Street.
The length of the trunk road known as Park Road that extends from the centre-point of its junction with Garth Road to its junction with Church Street.
The length of the northern side of the trunk road known as Garth Road that extends from the centre-point of its junction with Hospital Road in a westerly direction for 30 metres.
The length of the northern side of the trunk road known as Garth Road that extends from the point where the Park Road westbound traffic lane joins Garth Road roundabout in an easterly direction for 20 metres.
The length of the southern side of the trunk road known as Garth Road that extends from a point 19.6 metres from the centre-point of its junction with Hospital Road in a westerly direction for 40 metres. The length of the southern side of the trunk road known as Garth Road that extends from a point at the western edge of the cricket field eastern access in an easterly direction for 35 metres.
The length of the northern side of the trunk road known as High Street that extends from the centre-point of its junction with Strand Street in a south-westerly direction for 20 metres.

SCHEDULE 5
Temporary No Left Turn
From the westbound carriageway of the trunk road known as Park Road onto the eastbound carriageway of the trunk road known as Garth Road.

SCHEDULE 6
Alternative Route
The alternative route for westbound vehicles affected by the closure in Schedule 1 (eastbound vehicles unaffected) will be via the westbound The Strand, westbound and then southbound Church Street and eastbound West Street. During these works the one-way system on The Strand, Church Street and West Street will be suspended as indicated in Schedule 2 and Church Street (County Road) one-way system will be reversed.
