What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC147123525: The City of Manchester (Oswald Road, Chorlton Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Oswald Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Wilbraham Road, Barlow Moor Road, Nicolas Road vice versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate footway resurfacing works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 15th December 2025 to the 19th December 2025. The order shall come into operation on the 15th December 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham. ORDER NO. MCC000147125388: The City of Manchester (Cheetham Hill Gully Cleaning Dec, Cheetham Ward) (Temporary No waiting and No Loading) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to restrict vehicular traffic on Ansdell Street, Esmond Road, Birkdale Street, Chiselhurst Street, Daresbury Street, Egmont Street and Avondale Street. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to facilitate gully cleaning and potential pothole repair work. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 15th December 2025 to the 16th December 2025. The order shall come into operation on the 15th December 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If the restriction ends within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
