What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (BRIDLEWAY 69, CHEADLE AND GATLEY) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Closure of Bridleway 69 Cheadle and Gatley, at Faulkners Footbridge, Cheadle Hulme, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said bridleway. This Order is necessary to allow resurfacing works to take place. It is estimated that the maximum duration of the works will be 6 months. A diversion will be provided via; north from the point of closure to Mellor Road, then along Mellor Road to Station Road, then south on Station Road to the junction with Bridleway 69 CG. This Order is to come into operation on 11 December 2025 and will have effect for six months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
