Notice is hereby given that on the 20 November 2025 North Somerset Council made the following order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of which will be to amend the North Somerset Council (Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 to include Parking restrictions at various locations in North Somerset. The order will come into operation on the 24 November 2025, and copies of the order may be inspected by appointment at:

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

Notice of Making of a Definitive Map Order

Upgrade of part of Footpath AX3/42 to Bridleway AX3/62 and continuation of additional Bridleway AX3/62 Havage Drove, Puxton
Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order No.1 2025
The above Order made on 30 October 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by upgrading a section of Footpath AX3/62 to Bridleway AX3/62 and adding an additional section of Bridleway to the Definitive Map.
Upgrade of part of Footpath AX3/42 to Bridleway AX3/62 - Bridleway AX3/62 commences at its junction with Puxton Lane, Point A (Grid Ref ST41079 62025) where there is a 5 foot gate with a 5 foot gap to the side and proceeds in a south south westerly direction for approximately 286 m (where Footpath AX3/42 continues off to the right in a northerly direction) Point B, (Grid Ref ST 40815 61912).
Bridleway AX 3/62 to be added - Bridleway AX3/62 continues from Point B (Grid Ref ST 40815 61912) in a west south westerly direction for approximately 515 m to Point C (Grid Ref ST 40317 61805) before turning in a north westerly direction to Point D (Grid Ref ST 40268 61846), its junction with Box Bush Lane.
This route is locally known as Havage Drove and the total distance of this Bridleway is approximately 801m. The width of this Bridleway is as defined upon 1903 OS Map which details the alignment of the track and the rhyne network laid out adjacent to the track. The width of the track varies between 4.5m and 8m. Between points ‘A’ and ‘B’ the width is 4.5m to 4m, between points ‘B’ and ‘C’ the width is 4m and between points ‘C’ and ‘D’ the width is 4m to 3m. Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing addressed to Natural Environment Team, North Somerset Council, Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1UJ not later than 12 January 2026, quoting reference Mod 30D, stating the grounds on which it is made. If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or to any part of it, or if any so made are withdrawn, North Somerset Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State (or part of it if the authority has by notice to the Secretary of State so elected under paragraph 5 of Schedule 15 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981) may itself confirm the Order (or that part of the Order). If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, in whole or in part, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.

A38 near Sidcot School, Winscombe, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Pedestrians and Cyclists

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by North Somerset Council to Removal of diseased ash trees. This order will become operative on the 12 January 2026 between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs and a diversion route will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water to replace cover. This order will become operative on the 16 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid to add 1 joint hole in tarmac for reinforcement scheme & substation change. This order will become operative on the 23 January 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 13 days in duration. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to replace leaking stop tap. This order will become operative on the 5 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures and restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming Into Force: 4 February 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to provide a safe working area for engineers to access telegraph poles. This order will become operative on the 4 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works, which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order was required because of work being executed on and near the road by North Somerset Council to construct Banwell Bypass including highway and utilities works. This will become operative on 24 November 2025, for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 5 weeks in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
