What is happening?

North Yorkshire Council, Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Main Street, Beal, Order 2025, No. 460

We have made this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Main Street, Beal for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) between 01/12/25 & 19/01/26, due to Yorkshire Water clean water mains installation. However, the max duration of this Order is until 01/03/26. The closure period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local alternative route will be signed on site where appropriate. Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking, Amendment No 58, Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that on 21/11/25 The North Yorkshire Council made an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32(1) & 35(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act & under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which is to amend “North Yorkshire County Council (Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking) (District of Craven) Consolidation Order 2013” by introducing the restrictions specified in the table below:–

Skipton, Carleton New Road, North side, 5m east from the entrance to Kwik Fit, 15m in an easterly direction – Waiting Prohibited at All Times with Exemptions.

A copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 01/12/25, together with a map showing the roads affected may be examined at County Hall, Northallerton & at Skipton Library, 46A High Street, Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 1JX during normal office hours from 27/11/25 to 02/01/26 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map

If you wish to question the validity of the above Order or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any Instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks of 21/11/25 make application to the High Court for the purpose.
