What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
THANET AREA
A254 Ramsgate Road, B2052 College Road & Beatrice Road, Margate (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A254 Ramsgate Road, B2052 College Road & Beatrice Road, Margate, on or after 8th December 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
Closures will be imposed as a rolling closure between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
A254 Ramsgate Road will be closed between the junctions of Connaught Gardens and St Augustines Avenue.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via A254 Ramsgate Road, A254 Queens Avenue, A255 Grosvenor Gardens, A255 High Street, A255 St Peters Road, A255 Dane Court Road, A256 Westwood Road and A254 Margate Road.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via A254 Margate Road, A256 Westwood Road, A255 Dane Court Road, A255 St Peters Road, A255 Ramsgate Road and A254 Ramsgate Road.
B2052 College Road will be closed from the junction of A254 Ramsgate Road for approximately 50m in a Westerly direction.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2052 Hartsdown Road, Hartsdown Road, A28 Canterbury Road, A28 Marine Terrace, A254 Belgrave Road, A254 Eaton Road, A255 Grosvenor Gardens, A255 High Street, A255 Ramsgate Road and A254 Ramsgate Road.
Beatrice Road will be closed between the junctions of A254 Ramsgate Road and Helena Avenue.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2052 Hartsdown Road, Hartsdown Road, A28 Canterbury Road, A28 Marine Terrace, A254 Belgrave Road, A254 Eaton Road, A255 Grosvenor Gardens, A255 High Street, A255 Ramsgate Road and A254 Ramsgate Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Epple Road, Birchington, CT7 9BU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow vegetation clearance to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Epple Road, Birchington, on or after 8th December 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Alpha Road and Cross Road, between the hours of 07:00 and 15:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Epple Road, Epple Bay Avenue, Sea Road, Domneva Road, Westgate Bay Avenue, St Mildreds Road, A28 Canterbury Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Preston Road & Spratling Street, Ramsgate, CT12 5EF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & 20MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Preston Road & Spratling Street, Ramsgate, on or after 22nd December 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
Preston Road will be closed the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Preston Road will have a mandatory 20MPH speed limit imposed the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Preston Road, Manston Court Road, B2050 Manston Road and vice versa.
Spratling Street will be closed at the junction of Preston Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Spratling Street, Spratling Lane, A256 Haine Road, B2050 Manston Road, Preston Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Spratling Lane, Ramsgate, CT12 5AL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow sewer works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Spratling Lane, Ramsgate, on or after 8th December 2025 for up to 14 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Haine Lodge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Spratling Lane, Spratling Street, A256 Haine Road, A256 New Haine Road, A256 Haine Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Surrey Road, Margate, CT9 2LA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Surrey Road, Margate, on or after 12th December 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 39, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2051 Eastern Esplanade, Norfolk Road, Cumberland Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Windmill Avenue, Ramsgate, CT12 6QU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Windmill Avenue, Ramsgate, on or after 8th December 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Windmill Avenue, Millfield Road, Highfield Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
