What is happening?
THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, BOROUGH OF SWALE)
(WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES)
(CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT No.16) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act:
The Order was made on 4th December 2025, and will come into effect on 19th December 2025, and will Amend The Kent County Council (Various Roads, Borough of Swale) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2024 by
(a) extending the existing double yellow lines across the entrance to School House, Albany Road, Sittingbourne by 1 metre and reducing the existing parking bay by 1 metre
(b) installing double yellow lines across the vehicle entrance to the side of 103 Rock Road, Sittingbourne (in Epps Road) and adjusting the existing parking bays
(c) installing new, or formalising existing, disabled persons’ parking bays outside 33 Cambridge Road, 55 Makenade Avenue and 4 Ospringe Road in Faversham, 19 Cheyne Road in Eastchurch, 4 Belmont Road and 59 Queens Road in Minster, 31 Swale Avenue, Queenborough, 65 Alexandra Road, 126 Coronation Road, 45 James Street and 81 Marine Parade in Sheerness, 65 Castle Rough Lane, Kemsley, and 28 Glenbrook Grove and 214 Park Road in Sittingbourne
(d) removing existing redundant disabled persons’ parking bays outside 6 Bredhurst Close, 133 Coronation Road and 28 Winstanley Road in Sheerness, 19 Burley Road, 43 Glebe Lane and 48 Harrier Drive in Sittingbourne, and outside Warren House, 60 Stone Street in Faversham and extending the existing residents’ and voucher parking bay at this location.
The Order includes some changes of an administrative matter which will make no alterations to existing parking and waiting restrictions and will require no changes to existing parking lines or signs.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
