Dorset - Temporary Road and Footpath Closures due to Utility Works
What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Nottington Lane, Buckland Ripers
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along NOTTINGTON LANE, BUCKLAND RIPERS from its junction with Church Lane for a distance of approximately 1215 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 1 December 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 27 February 2026.
This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to install new water main in carriageway by means of horizontal directional drilling.
An alternative route will be signed using: Nottington Lane - B3159 - A354 - B3157 - Nottington Lane

JAN BRITTON, Executive Director for Place Services - Dorset Council, County Hall, Dorchester DT1 1XJ. Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.
Temporary Closure of Various Footpaths East Stour
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along sections of Public Right of Way N64/35, N64/34, N64/33, N64/78. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 30 November 2025 for a period of 26 weeks.
The Order is required to enable high voltage overhead cable diversion as essential infrastructure of development.
An alternative route will be provided.

Temporary Closure of Butt Farm Close, Winterbourne Abbas
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along BUTT FARM CLOSE, WINTERBOURNE ABBAS in its entirety. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 01 December 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 12 December 2025.
This Order will enable Wessex Internet, safe access to carry out fibre cable installation.
On this occasion there will be no specified alternative route for diverted traffic.
