What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WHITEHILL, DANE END) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Whitehill, Dane End from its junction with Rowney Lane north westwards to its junction with Little Munden Byway Open to All Traffic and Restricted Byway No.023, a distance of approximately 507m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Potters Green, Standon Green End, Ermine Street, C95 (unnamed road), Mill Lane, Munden Road and Whitehill.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telecom pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 17 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SCHOLARS HILL, WARESIDE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Scholars Hill, Wareside from its junction with C41 (unnamed road) north eastwards for a distance of approximately 89m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via C41 (unnamed road), B1004 Ware Road and Scholars Hill.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 17 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF C16 GREAT MUNDEN, GREAT MUNDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of C16 Great Munden, Great Munden from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No.6 Vale Cottages south westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via C16 (Great Munden/Nasty/ unnamed road), Station Road, A10 (unnamed road/Puckeridge Bypass), Mentley Lane West and C16 Great Munden.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 16 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF COTTERED ROAD, THROCKING) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cottered Road, Throcking from a point 12m north east of its junction with 3U258 (unnamed road) south westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Cottered Road, Throcking Lane, A507 Baldock Road, Throcking Road and Cottered Road.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 15 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WHEMPSTEAD ROAD, BENINGTON) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Whempstead Road, Benington from its junction with Benington Restricted Byway No.042 north westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Whempstead Road, Whempstead Lane, Mill Lane, A602 Watton at Stone Bypass, High Street, Walkern Road, Church Green, Town Lane and Whempstead Road.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 17 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BRAMFIELD LANE, WATERFORD) ORDER NO.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bramfield Lane, Waterford from its junction with Tattle Hill north eastwards to its junction with A119 High Road, a distance of approximately 967m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Tattle Hill, Bramfield Road, A119 North Road and A119 High Road.

The Order is needed because utility and tree cutting works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 15 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B1037 (UNNAMED ROAD), COTTERED) ORDER NO.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1037 (unnamed road), Cottered from a point 24m north west of its junction with Blind Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 185m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B1037 (unnamed road), A507 (Baldock Road/unnamed road/ Clothall Road), B656 Whitehorse Street, B197 (High Street/London Road), A507 Baldock Bypass, B197 (Jacks Hill/Graveley Road/High Street), A602 Hitchin Road, A1072 Martins Way, A1155 Verity Way and B1037 (Stevenage Road/High Street/Whitehill/unnamed road).

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 28 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN DANE END) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) will be:-

1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 20mph on that length of Green End Lane/Green End, Dane End from its junction with Whempstead Lane north eastwards, north westwards, north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 1600m, when signs are in place.

2. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 40mph on that length of Green End, Dane End from a point 523m north west of its junction with Church Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 250m, when signs are in place.

The Order is needed to allow the safe access in and out of Dane End Christmas Tree Farm. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 28 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B1368 GREEN END, BRAUGHING) ORDER NO.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1368 Green End, Braughing from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.54 Green End northwards for a distance of approximately 35m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B1368 (Green End/Station Road/Wickham Hill/Buntingford Road), A10 (unnamed road/ Buntingford Bypass), B1038 (Baldock Road/High Street/Hare Street Road/unnamed road), B1368 (unnamed road/Dassels Hill/Dassels/Hay Street/ Green End).

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 1 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WHITE STUBBS LANE, BAYFORD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of White Stubbs Lane, Bayford from its junction with Bayford Public Byway Open to all Traffic 008 north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Ashendene Road, a distance of approximately 607m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via White Stubbs Lane, Baas Hill, Bell Lane, A1170 (High Road/Great Cambridge Road), B156 (Halfhide Lane/Brookfield Lane West), Flamstead End Road, Longfield Lane, Dig Dag Hill, Hammondstreet Road, Darnicle Hill, Newgate Street, Newgate Street Village, C54 (unnamed road) and White Stubbs Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 4 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH FRONTING NOS.1-12 WINDING SHOTT, HERTFORD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath fronting Nos.1-12 Winding Shott, Hertford from its northernmost junction with Winding Shott south westwards, south eastwards, southwards, eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 181m (“the Footpath”).

An alternative route will be via the footpath situated on the east side of Winding Shott, the footway situated on the north and south sides of Turners Close and the footpath fronting No.2 and No.4 Turners Close.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 1 December 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath. (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN HOCKERILL, WATTON AT STONE AND WINDING SHOTT, HERTFORD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:- 1. that length of Hockerill, Watton at Stone from its junction with Rectory Lane north eastwards, north westwards, north eastwards, northwards, north westwards, north eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 250m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Winding Shott, Hertford from its junction with Gobions Lane south eastwards to its junction with Main Road, a distance of approximately 218m.

An alternative route will be via Bramfield Road, Burnham Green Road, Orchard Road, Upper Green, Upper Green Road, Lower Road, Hertford Road, B1000 (Hertford Road/Welwyn Road), A119 North Road, Bramfield Road, Tattle Hill and Main Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 1 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
