What is happening?

(WILLIAM STREET, RAINHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply works to be carried out -

William Street, Rainham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between the frontage of 35 William Street and to the boundary with Station Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Taswell Street, Henry Street, Station Road, William Street.

This Order will come into force on Tuesday, 3 February 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Tuesday, 3 February 2026 and are programmed for completion within 4 days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(ST MARGARETS STREET, ROCHESTER)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to facilitate the laying of ducting between BT cabling boxes -

St Margarets Street, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from the junction with King Edward Road to the junction with Vines Lane. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via King Edward Road, Lockington Grove and Vines Lane.

This Order will come into force on 11 January 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on 11 January and are programmed for completion within 2 days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(PATTENS GARDENS, ROCHESTER)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable manhole frame and cover replacements to be carried out -

Pattens Gardens, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 2–12 Pattens Gardens. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. No alternative route is available. Access to properties will be maintained as far as possible. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.

This Order will come into force on Friday, 2 January 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Friday, 2 January 2026 and are programmed for completion within 1 day. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable overnight repairs to be carried out to the drainage system -

Corporation Street, Rochester - to be closed to all westbound vehicular traffic between the junction with Almond Place and the junction with Northgate. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Star Hill, New Road, Dock Road, A289, Frindsbury Road and High Street.

This Order will come into force on Sunday, 11 January 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after 11.45pm, Sunday, 11 January 2026 and are programmed for completion within 1 night (by 5am). The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(LOWER WOODLANDS ROAD, GILLINGHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a decayed telegraph pole to be replaced -

Lower Woodlands Road, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from the junction with Gads Hill to across the frontage of 284 Lower Woodlands Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Grange Road roundabout.

This Order will come into force on Monday, 26 January 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 26 January 2026 and are programmed for completion within 2 days.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply works to be carried out -

Lower Twydall Lane, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of ‘Pear Cottage’. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. Access to properties will be maintained as far as possible. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to facilitate concrete repair works to Fairview Avenue Bridge -

Hoath Way, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between Hoath Way at the junction with Hoath Lane and Hempstead Road and Hoath Way at the junction with Sharsted Way and Wigmore Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Hempstead Road, Hempstead Valley Drive, Sharsted Way and Hoath Way.

This Order will come into force on Monday, 12 January 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 12 January 2026 and are programmed for completion within 50 days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic for public safety during bridge repair works -

Bryant Road, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between the junction with Barton Road and the junction with Gun Lane. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Bryant Road, Glanville Road, Brompton Lane, Gun Lane.

This Order will come into force on Monday, 15 December 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 15 December 2025 and are programmed for completion within 5 days (7am-3pm each day).
