What is happening?

WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL
(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING, PARKING PLACES AND RESIDENTS’ PARKING (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2009 (AMENDMENT NO 37) ORDER 2021)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL PROPOSES to make the above Order the effect of which will be to further amend the

WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING, PARKING PLACES AND RESIDENTS’ PARKING) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2009 (as amended) (“the Principal Order”) to the extent as set out below but in all other respect the Principal Order remains in force:

PLANS
Schedule 2 of the Principal Order shall be amended by the revision of the following plans:
L66, L68, L70, M66, AL75, AL77, AL78, AL79, AN46, AN72, AO75, AS73, AU74, AW74, AY75, AZ75, AZ76, BA75, BA76, BJ81, BL73, BT56, BT57, BX39, BX42, BX84, BX85, BY52 and BZ37

Schedule 2 of the Principal Order shall be amended by the addition of the following plans:
L65, AP75, BM72, BX44, BZ50 and BZ51

The proposals will result in changes to or addition of parking restrictions at the following locations:

Thatcham – Church Gate, Colthrop Lane, Enterprise Way, Gables Way, Green Lane, Lower Way, Meadow Close, Roger Croft Drive, Victor Road
Purley on Thames – Chestnut Grove, Long Lane and Wintringham Way
Hungerford – Charnham Park, Fairfields Close, High Street, Priory Road, Priory Place, A338 Salisbury Road, Tarrants Hill, and Tealgate
Newbury – Andover Road, Bartholomew Street, Meadow Road, Orchardene
Tilehurst – Cranmer Close, Fairway Avenue, Hawthornes, Heffterdle Avenue, Highworth Way, Longleaf Drive, Mapledene and Voller Drive
Chieveley – East Lane and Hazeldene
Greenham – Hambridge Lane
Aldermaston – Wasing Lane
Beenham – A4 Bath Road
Padworth – A4 Bath Road
Theale – Englefield Road
Stratfield Mortimer – Tower Gardens

FURTHER INFORMATION
Hard copies of the draft amendment order, principal order, detailed plans and explanatory statement can be inspected during the hours of 9.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Monday to Friday at the offices of West Berkshire District Council (at main reception on the ground floor), Council Offices Market Street Newbury Berkshire RG14 5LD.

If you would like to comment on the proposals, please complete the survey found via the link above. Alternatively, any comments or objections to the proposal can be sent in writing to the undersigned and must include reference PSA037 and ideally, the grounds on which any objections are made. This consultation will be open for comments from 09:00hrs on Thursday 27th November 2025 until 23:59hrs on Thursday 18th December 2025.
