Century Street - Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrian & Vehicular Traffic For Adjacent Development

TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC000146698082: The City of Manchester (Century Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrian & Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Century Street between Whitworth Street West & Trafford Street. The alternative routes for pedestrian and vehicular traffic will be: Deansgate, Whitworth Street West & Vice Versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate adjacent development. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 15th December 2025 to 1st March 2026. The order shall come into operation on the 15th December 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
