Quayside Fireworks Nye - Prohibition Any Vehicular Traffic To Works

What is happening?

CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
(QUAYSIDE FIREWORKS NYE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicular traffic to proceed on Quayside from its junction with Milk Market to its junction with Sandhill, Low City Road from its junction with Milk Market to its junction with City Road and Forster Road southbound to Pandon.

2. The alternative route for traffic will be signed on site as required.

3. The Order is required in connection with Quayside Fireworks NYE ("the Event") and to reduce the disruption to traffic likely to be caused by the Event. The Order is required to allow the Event to be carried out safely on or near the highway and to ensure the health and safety of the public.

4. Appropriate traffic management will be in place during the closures.

5. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the said event.

6. The Order will come into operation on 31 December 2025 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, up to 1 January 2026 or until the proposed event has ended, whichever is the earlier.
