Great Bridgewater Street - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Adjacent Development Works

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):ORDER NO. MCC146850407: The City of Manchester (Great Bridgewater Street, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Great Bridgewater Street between Watson Street & Albion Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be, From Deansgate End: Deansgate, Whitworth Street West, Albion Street & Liverpool Road, Lower Byrom Street, Quay Street, Deansgate, Whitworth Street West, Albion Street. From Albion Street End: Albion Street, Lower Mosley Street, Windmill Street, Mount Street, Peter Street, Deansgate & Chepstow Street, Oxford Street, Peter Street, Deansgate. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary inorder to facilitate adjacent development works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 5th January2026 to 1st February 2026. The order shall come into operation on 5th January 2026 and may remain in force for amaximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shallcease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.Kevin Gillham.
