What is happening?

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM

Temporary Traffic Management Order - (Porters Avenue, Dagenham)
(Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026

NOTICE OF INTENT

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate sewer cover and frame replacement works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make

a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Sunday 25th January 2026. The works expected for:

- Sewer cover and frame replacement works, to take 1 day to complete. Completion date estimated as Sunday 25th January 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 8:00am to 12:00pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -

- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Porters Avenue, north-eastbound carriageway, from its junction with Lodge Avenue for a distance of 56 metres in a north-easterly direction.

- Prohibit all vehicles from turning right from Lodge Avenue into Porters Avenue.

- Prohibit all vehicles from turning left from Lodge Avenue into Porters Avenue.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

- Via Lodge Avenue, Longbridge Road and Porters Avenue.
