Tockholes, Temporary Footpath Closure Due To Works On Public Right Of Way

What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF BLACKBURN WITH DARWEN

Extension To: Footpath 117 Tockholes Temporary Footpath Closure Order 2023

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport in pursuance of the power conferred by section 15 (5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has approved the continuing in force of the above named and effective from the 25th May 2023. The restriction had been completed the Secretary of State for Transport previously granted an extension of the Order until 5th November 2025. The Secretary of State now grants a further extension of the said Order until 25th November 2027 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any persons from using the footpath referred to in the Schedule below due to works being carried out on the line of the right of way. The alternative routes available (if any) are described in the Schedule below.

The paths will be closed in the interest of public safety.

There is an alternative route available.

During the closure of footpath 117 Tockholes the alternative route available is: A-C-B following SD 65700 22325 marked A in a  South Easterly direction for approximately 130m through C at the weir at SD 65812 22235 to SD 65714 22177 marked B. This is shown with a dashed line.
