(POOLE HARBOUR OPENING BRIDGES) ORDER 2006
PROPOSED CLOSURE OF BACK WATER CHANNEL – POOLE HARBOUR
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (“the Council”) propose to temporarily close the Back Water Channel for the full width in accordance with the powers granted by Section 17 of the above Order to execute works to the bridge structure. The Back Water Channel will be closed to all vessels that cannot pass under Twin Sails Bridge when in a closed position. The channel will still be available to low air draft vessels; the height clearance displays will show the available air draft. The channel will be closed from 10:30 on 15th December 2025 until 06:30 on 22nd December 2025.
