(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the length of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed.
The Order is necessary to enable Wales and West Utilities to carry out gas main works in the road and for the Highway Authority to carry out any subsequent ancillary maintenance works in the road.
The Order will come into force on the 12th January 2026 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner, but it is anticipated the works will take 5 days to complete.
SCHEDULE
The Highlands will be closed from the junction of Drummau Road in an easterly direction for approximately 175m along its length.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Drummau Road and Hill Road. Similarly, this route will operate in a reverse direction.
Access for emergency services and the public will be maintained.
