West Street - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (West Street) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.189) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 3rd December 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
WEST STREET
From its junction with Bath Square.
BATHING LANE
From its junction with Bath Square.
B) TEMPORARY REVOCATION OF ONE WAY
BATH SQUARE
From its junction with Broad Street to West Street.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate works to Portsmouth Sailing Club wall.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 3rd December 2025 to 19th January 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Bath Square to Broad Street (revocation of one way under traffic light control).
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
