Brindle Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BRINDLE ROAD, BAMBER BRIDGE, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Brindle Road, Bamber Bridge from Bank Head Lane, Bamber Bridge to the southeastern boundary of property number 390.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 2330 hours on Saturday 6th December 2025 until 0830 hours on Sunday 7th December 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Brindle Road, Bamber Bridge – Kellet Lane, Bamber Bridge – Tramway Lane, Bamber Bridge – Four Oaks Road, Bamber Bridge – A6 Preston Road, Bamber Bridge – A6 Church Road, Bamber Bridge – A6 Lostock Lane, Bamber Bridge – Station Road, Bamber Bridge – School Lane, Bamber Bridge – Cottage Lane, Bamber Bridge – Brindle Road, Bamber Bridge and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow annual level crossing inspection works to be carried out by Centurion Traffic Management in conjunction with Network Rail.
