What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(GEORGE STREET, EARBY, PENDLE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of George Street, Earby from its junction with Colne Road to its junction with Rear 1 to 123 Colne Road.
2. The prohibition will be operative from 2359 hours on Sunday 23rd November 2025 until 2359 hours on Friday 5th December 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
3. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
4. A diversion will be signed locally.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow the emergency repair to syphon in the carriageway to prevent potential loss of pressure to be carried out.
