What is happening?

THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

(MORTON ON THE HILL, WESTON LONGVILLE AND HONINGHAM, VARIOUS ROADS)

SPEED LIMIT ORDERS 2025

The Norfolk County Council has made the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 18th November 2025 and which come into effect on 24th November 2025:

The Norfolk County Council (Weston Longville, Various Roads) (20 mph Speed Limit) Consolidation and Variation Order 2025

The effect of this Order will be to:

1. Consolidate The Norfolk County Council (Weston Longville, Various Roads) (20 mph Speed Limit) Order 2017 (the “2017 Order”); and

2. Vary the 2017 Order by removing the existing reference to the C167 Woodforde Close/Church Street/Marl Hill Road and inserting the following into the 2017 Order:

Road Description
C167 Woodforde Close/Church Street/Marl Hill Road (and previously known as Honingham Road/ Woodforde Close/Church Street) From a point 151 metres southwest of its junction with the U57299 Post Office Lane to a point 60 metres northeast of the junction with the C172 Ringland Lane and the C172 Morton Lane
C172 Morton Lane From its junction with the C167 Marl Hill and the C172 Ringland Road for 13 metres north-westwards
C172 Ringland Lane From its junction with the C167 Marl Hill and the C172 Morton Lane for 17 metres south-eastwards

The 20mph speed limit on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule above will be a change to the existing National 60mph speed limit.

The Norfolk County Council (Morton on the Hill, Weston Longville and Honingham, Various Roads) (30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

The effect of this Order will be to prohibit any motor vehicle from exceeding 30 miles per hour along the lengths of road specified in the Schedule below:

C167 Marl Hill From a point 60 metres northeast of its junction with the C172 Ringland Lane and the C172 Morton Lane to its junction with the A1067 Fakenham Road
C172 Morton Lane From a point 13 metres northwest of its junction with the C167 Marl Hill and the C172 Ringland Lane to its junction with the B1535 Weston Hall Road and the U57299 Sandy Lane
U57161 Field Street From a point 70 metres northwest of its junction with the C167 Church Street to its junction with Marl Hill
C464 Rectory Road From a point 13 metres west of its junction with the C167 Honingham Road to a point 284 metres east of its junction with the B1535 Weston Hall Road and the B1535 Hockering Road
U57088 Hungate Common From its junction with the C464 Rectory Road for 350 metres south-westwards
C167 Honingham Road From its junction with the U57087 Weston Green Road, the C167 Weston Green Road and C167 Paddy’s Lane for 229 metres north-westwards
U57087 Weston Green Road From its junction with the C167 Honingham Road, the C167 Weston Green Road and the C167 Paddy’s Lane for 175 metres westwards
C167 Weston Green Road (East Side) From its junction with the C167 Honingham Road, the U57087 Weston Green Road and the C167 Paddy’s Lane for 354 metres eastwards
U57214 Breck Road From its junction with the C167 Weston Green Road for 114 metres south-eastwards
C167 Paddy’s Lane From its junction with the U57087 Weston Green Road, the C167 Honingham Road and the C167 Weston Green Road for 268 metres southwards
C174/10 Taverham Road From a point 38 metres north of its junction with the existing A47 for 395 metres northwards

The 30mph speed limit on the C174/10 Taverham Road has been reduced by 19 metres from the distance contained within the notice of proposals.

The 30mph speed limit on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule above will be a change to the existing National 60mph speed limit.

The Norfolk County Council (Weston Longville and Honingham, Various Roads) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

The effect of this Order will be to prohibit any motor vehicle from exceeding 40 miles per hour along the lengths of road specified in the Schedule below:

C167 Honingham Road From a point 229 metres north of its junction with the U57087 Weston Green Road, the C167 Weston Green Road and the C167 Paddy’s Lane to a point 151 metres southwest of the U57299 Post Office Lane
C464 Rectory Road From its junction with the C167 Honingham Road for 13 metres westwards
U57088 Hungate Common From a point 350 metres southwest of its junction with the C424 Rectory Road to its junction with the B1535 Weston Green Road
C167 Paddy’s Lane/Wood Lane From a point 20 metres north of its junction with the B1535 Frans Green and the B1535 Wood Lane to a point 268 metres southwest of its junction with the U57087 Weston Green Road, the C167 Weston Green Road and C167 Honingham Road

The 40mph speed limit on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule above will be a change to the existing National 60mph speed limit.

The Norfolk County Council (Weston Longville, Rectory Road) (50 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

The effect of this Order will be to prohibit any motor vehicle from exceeding 50 miles per hour along the length of road specified in the Schedule below:

C464 Rectory Road From a point 23 metres east of its junction with the B1535 Weston Hall Road and the B1535 Hockering Road for 261 metres eastwards

The 50mph speed limit on the length of road specified in the Schedule above will be a change to the existing National 60mph speed limit.
