What is happening?

Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough has made an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic Order 2025
Long Causeway, Cathedral Square, Church Street, Peterborough Ref: 26-217

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the roads known as Long Causeway, Cathedral Square & Church Street due to the Christmas Market being held on the above roads. The proposed Order shall come into operation on the 27/11/2025 and will continue until the Christmas Market has finished or the 25/12/2025 whichever is the sooner. It is anticipated that the closures shall take place between 10:30hrs & 20:00hrs on the following days 27th - 30th November 2025 inclusive, 4th - 7th December 2025 inclusive, 11th - 14th December 2025 inclusive & 15th - 24th December 2025 inclusive. The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order –
Morley Way 2025                                                                              Ref: 26-208

The effect of which is to stop any pedestrian or cyclist from proceeding along the footpath/cycle path known as Morley Way, as lies between the rear of units 11 Wainman Road and 3 Wainman Road. The Council is satisfied that pedestrians and cyclists should be prohibited due to works being proposed to be executed on the above footpath/ cycle path. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by this Order is: Wainman Road, Shrewsbury Avenue, Morley Avenue and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on the 02/12/2025 and will continue until the excavation and duct installation works have been completed or until the 01/06/2026, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will be completed between 09:30 and 15:30 from the 02/12/2025 to 08/12/2025. For further information please contact Granemore Group on 0345 017 9600. FP2

The City of Peterborough Alma Road & Victoria Street –
 One Way Traffic Order 2025                                                          Ref: 26-220

Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough has made an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) & (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along the following roads in the direction stated 1) Alma Road from its junction with Lincoln Road to its junction with Victoria Street 2) Victoria Street from its junction with Alma Road to its junction with St Martins Street 3) Traffic will be able to proceed along both roads in the opposite direction. There is no alternative route for vehicles affected by this order. The proposed order will come into effect on 1/12/2025 and remain in place until a permanent order is made or the 31/05/2027 whichever is the sooner. RC2

The Council of the City of Peterborough gives notice pursuant to section 14(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984:

The City of Peterborough Thorpe Road, Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 
as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991

(Temporary Restriction of Through Traffic)                                 Ref: 26-223

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Thorpe Road, as lies between Bourges Boulevard Roundabout 36 (Crescent Bridge roundabout) and Midland Road, westbound only. There are no properties affected by this notice. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Bourges Boulevard, Rivergate, Town Bridge, London Road, Oundle Road, Nene Parkway, Longthorpe Parkway and Thorpe Road. This notice is made in the interest of pedestrian barrier repair works and will remain effective for no more than 5 days from 01/12/2025. Works are expected to take place between 20:00 and 06.00 on 01/12/2025 only. The Notice shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or any person acting with permission or upon the direction of a police Officer in uniform. The City of Peterborough Welland Road, Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 
as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991

(Temporary Restriction of Through Traffic)                                 Ref: 26-224

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Welland Road, as lies between the A47 and Veolia access. Access will be maintained for Veolia traffic over 7.5T by means of escort. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: A47, Fulbridge Road, St Pauls Road, Welland Road and vice versa. This notice is made in the interest of sign installation works and will remain effective for no more than  5 days from 01/12/2025. The Notice shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or any person acting with permission or upon the direction of a police Officer in uniform. New Road, Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic
(Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 (Temporary Restriction of Through Traffic) Ref: 26-215

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as New Road, northbound as lies between Brook Street and Eastfield Road roundabout 39. Access will be maintained to properties affected by this Notice. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Northminster, City Road, St Johns Street. This notice is made in the interest of new pole installation works and will remain effective for no more than 5 days from 03/12/2025. The Notice shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or any person acting with permission or upon the direction of a police Officer in uniform. Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough intends in not less than seven days to make an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 –
Thorney Road, Newborough                                                           Ref: 26-218

Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough intends in not less than seven days to make an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Thorney Road, Newborough, as lies between St Martins Road and Bramble Close. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Thorney Road, St Pegas Road, Peakirk Road, High Street, Lincoln Road, Glinton Bypass, Paston Parkway, A47, A16, Thorney Road and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 10/12/2025 and will continue until the resurfacing and road marking works have been completed or until the 09/12/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 10/12/2025 and the 11/12/2025. The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 –
Eyebury Road                                                                                     Ref: 26-222

Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough intends in not less than seven days to make an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Eyebury Road, as lies between 49 and 67. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Crowland Road, A47, Paston Parkway, Parnwell Way, Oxney Road, Eyebury Road and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 08/12/2025 and will continue until the installation of telecom ducts works have been completed or until the 07/12/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 08/12/2025 and the 10/12/2025.
