Suffolk, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A12 MAIN ROAD, DARSHAM

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the A12 Main Road, Darsham from 30 metres north eastbound and 30 metres south westbound of the railway track to facilitate level crossing testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1387, the B1122, Yoxford Road, the A12 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10pm on 22/11/2025 - 6am on 23/11/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U8704 WOODHALL ROAD, SUDBURY

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U8704 Woodhall Road, Sudbury from no. 10 to no. 22 to facilitate gas works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Tudor Road, Clarence Road, Stanley Road, York Road, the A131 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/11/2025 - 23/11/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A154 BEACH STATION ROAD, FELIXSTOWE

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the A154 Beach Station Road, Felixstowe from the rail crossing for 20 metres westbound and 20 metres eastbound to facilitate access and egress to a road rail vehicle. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Walton Avenue, the A154 Port of Felixstowe Road, the A14 Candlet Road, the A154 Garrison Lane, the A154 Langer Road, the A154 Beach Station Road, the A154 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 9.30pm on 22/11/2025 - 8.30am on 23/11/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C642 QUAKER LANE, BARDWELL

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C642 Quaker Lane, Bardwell from Quaker Cottage to no. 4 to facilitate stop tap replacement works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Quaker Lane, Spring Road, Bardwell Road, the B1111, the A143, the A1088, Bardwell Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 03/12/2025 from 9.30am - 2.30pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U1631 MILL LANE AND THE C956 QUEEN STREET, SOUTHWOLD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

  1. U1631 Mill Lane, Southwold from Stable House to the junction with Queen Street

  2. C956 Queen Street, Southwold from the junction with Mill Lane to no. 5.

    This is to facilitate providing pole bends and laying ducts. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

    Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

    The diversion routes will be:

  3. Mill Lane, Gardner Road, Lorne Road, Queen Street and vice versa

  4. High Street, York Road, Godly Road, Gardner Road, Queens Road, Queen Street and vice versa.

    It is intended that the closure will operate from 03/12/2025 - 05/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
