What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(Temporary Closing Of Langley Road, Watford) Order No.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Langley Road, Watford from its junction with A411 Hempstead Road south westwards to its junction with Woodland Drive, a distance of approximately 71m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via: A411 Hempstead Road, Stratford Road and Woodland Drive.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8th December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Tibbs Hill Road, Abbots Langley) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Tibbs Hill Road, Abbots Langley from its junction with Abbots Langley Public Footpath No.051 south eastwards for a distance of approximately 72m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via: High Street, Gallows Hill Lane, Gallows Hill, Hamilton Road, Hunton Bridge Hill, South Way, Langley Lane and Tibbs Hill Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12th December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of A4145 Vicarage Road, Watford) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of A4145 Vicarage Road, Watford from its junction with A4178 Merton Road north-westwards to its junction with A411 Exchange Road, a distance of approximately 72m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via: A4178 (Kingsfield Road/Faradale Road/Fernley Street/The Metes/Merton Road/Cassiobury Road), A412 St Albans Road and A411 (Beechen Grove/Exchange Road) or via: A411 Exchange Road, A412 St Albans Road and A4178 (Cassiobury Road/Merton Road).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12th December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Queens Drive, Abbots Langley) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Queens Drive, Abbots Langley from its junction with the northern boundary of No.16 Queens Drive south westwards for a distance of approximately 72m ("the Road").

There is no alternative route available while the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this length of road will be maintained when possible.

The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 10th December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Quickley Lane, Chorleywood) Order No.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Quickley Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Rendelsham Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 50m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via: Quickley Lane, Heronsgate Road, Stag Lane, Berry Lane, Common Gate Road, Chorleywood Bottom and Quickley Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8th December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of A4008 Aldenham Road, Watford) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of A4008 Aldenham Road, Watford from its junction with A411 Chalk Hill south westwards to its junction with A4008 Muirhead Avenue Road, a distance of approximately 151m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via: A411 Chalk Hill/London Road/Red Stripe/Southern Way/Hatfield Road, A4140 (High Street/The Common/Stammer High/A410 (Church Road/Uxbridge Road) and A4008 (Oxhey Lane/Pinner Road).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 10th December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Beauchamp Gardens And The Footpath Situated Between No.20 And No.22 Shepherds Lane, Rickmansworth) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (the "Road") and Footpath (the "Footpath") will be:

  1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Beauchamp Gardens, Rickmansworth from its junction with Middleton Road north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 85m.

    An alternative route will be via: local roads as signposted while the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  2. To prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated between No.20 and No.22 Shepherds Lane, Rickmansworth from its junction with Shepherds Lane north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Beauchamp Gardens, a distance of approximately 105m.

    An alternative route will be via: the footway situated on the north west side of Shepherds Lane, the footway situated on the west side of Church Lane, the footway situated on the west side of Middleton Road and the footway situated on the south side of Beauchamp Gardens.

The Orders are needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road and Footpath.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8th December 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road or Footpath.

(Temporary Traffic Management Measures On Watford Borough Public Footpath No.023 And The Bus Lane Situated On The North Side Of Station Road, Watford) Order No.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:

  1. To prohibit all pedestrians from using the Watford Borough Public Footpath No.023 from its junction with Station Road south westwards to its junction with Sandy Lane, a distance of approximately 145m.

    An alternative route will be via: the footway situated on the north side of Station Road and the footway situated on the north side of Sandy Lane.

  2. To suspend the Bus Lanes Order on the north side of Station Road, Watford from its junction with Woodford Road to outside the Birdie Farm north westwards for a distance of approximately 78m to enable vehicles to pass parked works vehicles.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Public Footpath and Bus Lane.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8th December 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions or suspensions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Public Footpath or Bus Lane.

(Temporary Traffic Management Measures On Various Roads In Rickmansworth) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of the following lengths of roads ("the Roads") will be:

  1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of Roads, except for access:

    a) that length of Elm Way, Rickmansworth from its junction with A412 Uxbridge Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

    An alternative route will be via: A412 Uxbridge Road, Field Way, Mount View and Elm Way.

b) that length of Park Way, Rickmansworth from its junction with A412 Uxbridge Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

An alternative route will be via: A412 Uxbridge Road, Field Way, Money Hill Road and Park Way.

c) that length of Money Hill Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with A412 Uxbridge Road northwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

An alternative route will be via: A412 Uxbridge Road, Field Way, Mount View and Money Hill Road.

d) that length of Nightingale Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with Uxbridge Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 15m.

An alternative route will be via: A412 Uxbridge Road, Money Hill Road,

Shepherds Way, Meadow Way and Nightingale Road.

  1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a right turn from Uxbridge Road into Nightingale Road, or from Nightingale Road into Uxbridge Road, while works are in progress.

    An alternative route will be via: A412 Uxbridge Road, Money Hill Road, Meadow Way and Nightingale Road.

The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The sections of the Roads will be closed when signs are in place.

The Order came into effect on 24th November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing Of Abbots Road, Abbots Langley) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Abbots Road, Abbots Langley from its junction with High Street north westwards for a distance of approximately 134m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via: High Street, Gallows Hill Lane, Gallows Hill and Abbots Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24th November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Prohibition Of Left Turn Movements From Thomas Sawyer Way Into A4178 Wiggenhall Road, Watford) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a left turn manoeuvre from the eastbound carriageway of Thomas Sawyer Way into the northbound carriageway of A4178 Wiggenhall Road ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via: Thomas Sawyer Way, A411 (Dalton Way/Waterfields Way/Beechen Grove/Exchange Road) A412 (King Street/Farraline Road) and A4178 Wiggenhall Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24th November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing And Temporary Waiting Restrictions In Sandy Lane, Bushey) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Sandy Lane, Bushey from its junction with A411 Elstree Way south westwards for a distance of approximately 60m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via: A411 Elstree Way, B462 Hartspring Lane, Little Bushey Lane and Sandy Lane.

ADDITIONALLY, all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of the said length of road whilst the works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24th November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing And Temporary Waiting Restrictions In North Hill, Chorleywood And New Road, Saratt) Order 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of roads whilst works are in progress:

  1. That length of North Hill, Chorleywood from its junction with New Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 865m.

    An alternative route will be via: New Road, Church Lane, Dimmocks Lane, Sarratt Road, Solesbridge Lane, A404 (Rickmansworth Road/Chenies Road) and North Hill.

  2. That length of New Road, Sarratt from a point 30m north east of its junction with Hill Cottage south westwards to its junction with North Hill, a distance of approximately 30m.

    An alternative route will be via: New Road, Church Lane, Dimmocks Lane, Sarratt Road, Solesbridge Lane, A404 (Rickmansworth Road/Chenies Road) and North Hill.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24th November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
