Reepham, Street Parking Order Consolidation & Variation

What is happening?

THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

(REEPHAM, MARKET PLACE) (STREET PARKING PLACES) CONSOLIDATION AND VARIATION ORDER 2025

Norfolk County Council propose to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effects of which will be to consolidate and vary The Norfolk County Council (Reepham, Various Roads) (Street Parking Places) Consolidation and Variation Order 2011 (the “2011 Order”) by:—

1. Deleting the references in Schedule 2 of the 2011 Order to the following lengths of road:

Parts of road authorised to be used as street parking places Position in which vehicles may wait Classes of vehicles Days of Operation of parking place Hours of Operation of parking place Maximum period for which vehicles may wait
Market Place Southern Side The area bounded by the C260 carriageway and the service road running to the south and west of the Market Place in front of the Library and The Kings Arms Public House All except for Heavy Commercial Vehicles Wednesday 2pm to 6pm Waiting limited to 90 minutes with no return within 90 minutes
Parking places adjacent to the carriageway through The Market Place and fronting Barclays Bank and the Old Brewery House Hotel As marked on the carriageway (Monday, Tuesday)

(Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)

08:00 am to 06:00pm

02:00 pm to 06:00 pm

Parking places adjacent to the carriageway through the Market Place and fronting the Library and King’s Arms Public House As marked on the carriageway (Monday, Tuesday)

2. Deleting the references in Schedule 3 of the 2011 Order to the following lengths of road, thereby deleting Schedule 3 in its entirety:

3. Updating the description of the length of road in Schedule 2 by replacing the references to “Barclays Bank” and “The Old Brewery House Hotel” with “Bank House” and “The Dial House” respectively, so that it now reads as follows:

4. Deleting the reference to ‘Waiting limited to 90 minutes with no return within 90 minutes’ in column 6 of Schedule 2 of the 2011 Order.

5. Inserting the reference ‘Waiting limited to 120 minutes with no return within 120 minutes’ into column 6 of Schedule 2 of the 2011 Order.

6. Updating the reference in column 4 of Schedule 2 of the 2011 Order to specify that the restriction on ‘Market Place Southern Side’ applies from Monday to Friday.

By consolidating and varying the 2011 Order, the 2011 Order will be revoked in its entirety on the date of commencement of the above Order. All existing legal lengths with street parking places specified in the 2011 Order will maintain these restrictions in the above Order, except where amendments have been made, as outlined above.

The purpose of this consolidation and variation includes making typographical corrections and removing superfluous wording for clarity, updating legislative references to comply with the current Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, adding new definitions and clarifying existing definitions to align with existing legislation and practices.

A copy of the draft Order, a plan, Statement of Reasons for making the Order, and a copy of the 2011 Order may be viewed online at https://norfolk.citizenspace.com/. Copies may also be available for inspection at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Norwich and at the offices of the Broadland District Council, The Horizon Centre, Peachman Way, Broadland Business Park, Norwich NR7 0WF, during normal office hours. However, in house staffing levels may have been reduced and viewing online would be recommended.

Any objections and representations relating to the Order must be made in writing and must specify the grounds on which they are made. All correspondence for these proposals must be received at the office of nplaw, Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2DH, marked for the attention of Mr J Hulse by 16th December 2025.
