What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL

Dorking Road (B2450) Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 21 November 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Dorking Road (B2450) Leatherhead as extends from its junction with Givons Grove Roundabout (A24/A246) to a point 160 metres north of this junction.

Alternative route – A24 (By-Pass Road), B2122 (Epsom Road and The Crescent), B2033 (Church Street) and B2450 (Dorking Road), or this route in reverse. This Order is required to enable Barr Engineering Services Limited to facilitate new pole installation and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 10 December 2025 for 1 day between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, buses, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Bletchingley Road (C69) Merstham Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Unloading Order 2025

On 26 November 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit waiting, loading, and unloading at any time, by vehicles in that length of the south eastbound carriageway of Bletchingley Road (C69) Merstham as extends from its junction with (C67) Nutfield Road to a point in line with the common boundary between No.10 Bletchingley Road and No.2 Albury Road.
This Temporary Order is required to facilitate telecom pole replacement works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 10 December 2025. This temporary restriction will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and only to such extent as indicated by those traffic signs. Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).

Godstone Road (C84) Oxted Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 26 November 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Godstone Road (C84) Oxted.
Alternative Route: High Street, and (A25) Godstone Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate sewer pipe repair works for, or on behalf of Cappagh Browne Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 12 days, between the hours of 9am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 08 December 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Junction Road (D2839) Dorking (Dorking Christmas Festival) (Temporary One-Way Traffic) Order 2025

On 26 November 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order, pursuant to Sections 16A and 16B of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), the effect of which will be that all traffic proceeding in that length of Junction Road (D3829) Dorking, as extends from its junction with (A25) West Street to its junction with the access into “Waitrose Car Park”, other than in a southerly direction. The Order will come into effect on 30 November 2025, for a period of one day and is required to facilitate the holding of an event on the highway, namely the Dorking Christmas Festival.
A reserve date of the 14 December 2025 has been approved in case of severe weather on the planned date of 30 November 2025. The Urban District of Dorking (Various Roads) (One-Way Traffic) Order 1970 (as amended) will be suspended in relation to the said length of road. The temporary restriction specified above will not apply to police, fire brigade and ambulance services in an emergency, or anything done on the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a traffic marshal, or any sign placed by Surrey Police. The prohibition will only be operative while the relevant traffic signs are displayed, which is anticipated to be between 7am and 8pm. The Council are also satisfied, in accordance with subsection (3) of Section 16A of the Act, that the event to which the Order relates cannot be held otherwise than on a road. Alternative Route: (A25) West and (A25) South Street, or this route in reverse. Diversion routes for the event will be signed. Further information concerning the event may be obtained from the event website at hellodorking.com (search for Christmas Festival). A copy of the proposed Order, together with a plan showing the length of road affected, may be inspected free of charge at Dorking Library, St. Martin’s Walk, Dorking, Surrey RH4 1UT, during normal opening hours.

Whyteleafe Hill (C227) Whyteleafe Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:- (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Whyteleafe Hill (C227) Whyteleafe as extends from its junction with St Lukes Road (D1385) to the access for the property known as “Ashdown House”; and (b) suspend “The Surrey County Council Whyteleafe Hill (C227) Whyteleafe (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024” insofar as it relates to the length of road described in (a).

Alternative route – A22 (Godstone Road), Salmons Lane, Whyteleafe Hill, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable of Volkerhighways to facilitate drainage works at the level crossing and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 10 January 2026 for 2 weekends between the hours of 10.00pm to 7.00am (Saturday evening to Sunday morning) or 9.00pm to 5.00am (Sunday evening to Monday morning).
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Povey Cross Road (C64) Hookwood Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Povey Cross Road (C64) Hookwood eastbound as extends from its junction with Reigate Road (C62) to its junction with Longbridge Roundabout (A23 (Brighton Road) and A217 (Reigate Road).

Alternative route – Reigate Road and A217 (Reigate Road), or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate blockage clearance and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 5 January 2026 for 3 days between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

How Lane (D1080) Chipstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.4) 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:- (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of How Lane (D1080) Chipstead as extends from its junction with Bouvarie Road (D1079) to a point 350 metres north of this junction; and (b) suspend “The Surrey County Council How Lane (D1080) Chipstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” insofar as it affected the length of road described in (a).

Alternative route – B2032 (Chipstead Valley Road), Portnalls Road and Hollymead Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate the installation of a new pole and associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 13 January 2026 for 1 day between the hours of 10.00am and 2.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Stanstead Road (C70) Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Stanstead Road (C70) Caterham as extends from its junction with Willey Lane (X35099) to its junction with Roffes Lane (D1424).

Alternative route – White Hill Lane, Springbottom Lane, Hilltop Lane, B2031 (Rook Lane, Chaldon Road) and B2030 (High Street and Church Road), or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate pole replacement and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 10 January 2026 for 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Stag Leys (D2642) Ashtead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Stag Leys (D2642) Ashtead as extends from the access for the property known as “60 Stag Leys” to the access for the property known as “62 Stag Leys”.

Alternative route – Stag Leys.

This Order is required to enable UKPN to facilitate the installation of underground service cables and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 12 January 2026 for 1 week between the hours of 8.00am and 23.59pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Linkfield Street (D1265) Redhill Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Linkfield Street (D1265) Redhill as extends from its junction with Grovehill Road (D1266) to the access for Radnor Court.

Alternative route – Ridgeway Road and Grovehill Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable SGN to facilitate new service connections and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 12 January 2026 for 4 days between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Kennel Close (D2596) and Kennel Lane (D2596) Fetcham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in:- (a) the entire length of Kennel Close (D2596) Fetcham; and (b) that length of Kennel Lane (D2596) Fetcham northbound as extends from its junction with Lower Road (D265) to the southern boundary of the property known as “5 Kennel Lane”.

Alternative route – Lower Road, Eastwick Drive, Spring Grove and Kennel Lane.

This Order is required to enable Dig and Connect Water Services Ltd to facilitate a new service connection and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 5 January 2026 for 2 weeks between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.

Ormside Way (C224/D1262) Redhill Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Ormside Way (C224/D1262) Redhill as extends from its junction with Battlebridge Lane (D1179) to the access for the property known as “50 Ormside Way.”

Alternative route – (a) Ormside Way, A23 (London Road and London Road South) and New Battlebridge Lane, or this route in reverse. (b) Frenches Road, Trowers Way and Ormside Way, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable the Council to facilitate road table installation and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 12 January 2026 for 4 nights.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.

B2028 Town Hill/B2028 High Street, Lingfield Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of B2028 Town Hill/B2028 High Street, Lingfield which extends from the junction with Station Road to the junction with Talbot Road. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway slurry works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 16 December 2025.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Alternative Route – B2028 Racecourse Road, B2028 Moor Lane, B2028 Marsh Green Road (Kent), B2026 Mill Hill (Kent), B2026 Mont St Aignan Way (Kent), C87 Lingfield Road (Kent), C87 Haxted Road, C87 Lingfield Common Road, B2029 Godstone Road, B2028 Plaistow Street and B2028 High Street.
