What is happening?

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping up of Highway (Yorkshire & Humber) (No. 22) Order 2025” authorising the stopping up of an irregular shaped southern part width of Sherburn Road, comprising highway verge, at Brighouse, in the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale. This is to enable development as permitted by Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council under reference 24/00089/FUL.

Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, National Transport Casework Team, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting SUO3093652). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council, Mulcture House, Halifax, HX1 1SP.

Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 27 November 2025.
