What is happening?
North Yorkshire Council, Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Mill Lane,
Ryther, Order 2025, No. 464 We have made this Order to prohibit any
vehicle from using Mill Lane, Ryther for a temporary period (subject to
access to premises) between 01/12/25 & 19/12/25, due to Sewer connection
works. However, the max duration of this Order is until 01/03/26. The closure
period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local alternative route will be

40 Mph Speed Limit, Ryther Road, Cawood, Order 2025 Notice is hereby
given that on 21/11/25 The North Yorkshire Council made an Order under
Sections 84(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of
Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to prohibit any motor
vehicle from travelling at a speed in excess of 40 mph on any length of road
specified. Ryther Road, Cawood, North westerly direction from the existing
30mph speed limit for 480m. A copy of the Order, which comes into operation
on 01/12/25, may be examined at County Hall, Northallerton & at Selby
Library,52 Micklegate, Selby, YO8 4EQ during normal office hours from
27/11/25 until 02/01/26 & also viewed online at

www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders. If you wish to question the
validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it
is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,
as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any
Instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the
Order, you may, within 6 weeks of 21/11/25 make application to the High
Court for the purpose.
Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking, Amendment
No Tbc, Order 2026 Notice is hereby given that The North Yorkshire Council
proposes to make an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32(1) &
35(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the
1984 Act & under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which will
be to amend “North Yorkshire County Council (Prohibition of Waiting &
Loading & Provision of Parking) (District of Selby) Consolidation Order
2013” by introducing the restrictions specified in the table below:- Schedule
1 - Waiting Prohibited at all Times with Exemptions - New proposed
TRO- Double yellow line Selby, James Street, East side of road from 13m
south of centre lines on The Crescent for 11.5m. Schedule 2 – Revocations
- Revoke the single yellow line Selby, James Street, East side of road from
13m south of centre lines on The Crescent for 11.5m. A copy of the draft
Order, together with a map showing the roads affected & a statement of the
Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at
County Hall, Northallerton & at Selby Library, 52 Micklegate, Selby YO8 4EQ
during normal office hours from 27/11/25 to 18/12/25 & also viewed online at
www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or
