High Hope Street, Temporary Road Closure Due To Sewer Repair Works

What is happening?

THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM

(High Hope Street Back, Crook) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025

The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road.

A 51 metre Length of High Hope Street, Back, Crook to the rear of numbers 1 to 11 Percey Street and 13 to 24 High Hope Street, to enable sewer repair works to be undertaken.

An alternative route is available to vehicular traffic from west side of closure, in a northerly direction on Douglas Terrace then east on Percy Terrace, to eastern end of closure and vice versa.

The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The works will commence at 8:00am on 8/12/2025 and are anticipated to be completed in 5 days. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
