What is happening?
LEICESTER CITY COUNCIL (ABBEY LANE, JARROMSTREET, WOODBRIDGE ROAD, LEICESTER) (NOSTOPPING PROHIBITION & PARKING PLACES)(PARKING CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2025 AMENDMENTNO.###) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025 (TMP1018)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Leicester City Council ("the Council") proposes to make an Order under Sections 1(1),2(1) to (3), 4(2), 5, 23, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9to the Act, hereby propose to makes the following Order: -
The effects of the proposed Order, will be:
• To amend the existing 1 hour limited waiting bay operating7am to 7pm Mon to Sat inclusive on part of Abbey Laneoutside No.202 & 204.
• To amend the existing No stopping (red route) restrictionoperating 7 am to 7pm Mon to Sat inclusive on part ofAbbey Lane outside No. 202 & 204
• To reinstate a no waiting prohibitions operating at any time on both sides of the road on parts of Jarrom Street
• To reinstate an unrestricted gap separating two lengths ofno waiting prohibitions on part of Woodbridge Road outsidethe Cash & Carry
• To revoke certain existing prohibitions, restrictions and provisions
A COPY of the proposed Order, the relevant plan, theCouncil's statement of reasons for proposing to make theOrder and extract copies of the Order being amendedmay be seen at Leicester City Council's website: https://leicester.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders orhttps://leicester.traffweb.app/traffweb/2/PublicConsultation.
OBJECTIONS to the proposed Orders must be made inwriting and specify the grounds on which they are madeto Traffic Orders Team, Leicester City Council, City Hall,Charles Street, Leicester LE1 1FZ or email TROteam@leicester.gov.uk and mark for the attention of PravinGodhania. Any objections stating grounds on which theyare made and quoting ref. 'TMP1018-Abbey Lane and mustbe received by 18th Day of December 2025.
The proposals are intended to allow more parking provisionoutside the post office on Abbey Lane. Following the consolidation Order, two anomalies have been identified where existing restrictions were missed or incorrectlydefined, amendment to the Order are made to correct there strictions that the public see out on site.
