What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of Beech Grove, Carlisle, from a point approx. 50 m south of its junction with Knowefield Avenue, to its junction with Knowe Park Avenue.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of Beech Grove, Knowefield Avenue, Scotland Road, Lansdowne Crescent and Knowe Park Avenue.

The Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 3 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
